Summer, lake and flamingo – our TFF summer party 2026

What happens when you bring together 30 adults, 30 children, a barbecue and a giant flamingo on a sunny summer day at Lake Zurich? Pretty much exactly what we had hoped for at our TFF summer party: there was swimming, eating, playing, laughing, chatting – and of course a bit of politics too.

On the last Saturday of the summer holidays, Thalwil für Familien (TFF) met at the clubhouse of the Thalwil sailing club. The morning started with coffee and croissants, and later almost everyone ended up in the water. The children played and romped around together, while the adults took the opportunity to exchange ideas – about family, Thalwil and politics.

At midday we fired up the grill together. There were salads, desserts, cool drinks and, above all, plenty of time to just sit together.

TFF is a young association and already has more than 100 members. We want to combine political engagement with a lively association life: standing up for families in Thalwil, contributing to commissions and political bodies, and at the same time nurturing community and cohesion.

The summer party showed just how well that fits together. That is why the event at the sailing club is set to become an annual tradition. And there is plenty more in the pipeline.
